Congratulations to Mike Utley who scored the game winning goal for the Illinois Piasa in the first game as a professional club against the Cincinnati Kings’ reserve squad. The St. Louis native found space in front of the goal and unleashed a left footed cannon to put the Piasa up 4-3 before time expired. Utley was force in the midfield all night, stringing together passes and tackling hard.
The Illinois Piasa, based in the St. Louis Metropolitan area, are competing in their first season in the Premier Arena Soccer League (PASL). Divided between a Pro and a Premier division, the organization is in its 13th year of competition. The Piasa compete in PASL-PRO the highest level of the PASL system. PASL-Pro has affiliated with the Canadian Major Indoor Soccer League (CMISL) and Liga Mexicana de Futbol Rapido (LMFR) creating a truly unique North American competition.
